Designed as the main association football stadium for the World Cup, the FNB Stadium became the largest stadium in Africa with a capacity of 94,736. However its maximum capacity during the 2010 FIFA World Cup was 84,490 due to reserved seating for the press and other VIPs. This place has a very rich history in terms of South African Sport, it was revamped for the 2010 soccer world cup. Great atmosphere especially if you attendeding when your team is playing, it's safe to bring your whole family for an even more fun time. With current Covid 19 regulations the verification process can be tedious if there's huge crowds but the staff were very knowledgeable and quick to process verification. Overall it's an awesome beautiful venue to attend events at.
Was there for the Imagine Dragons show. It was amazing! Only bad things was that we were waiting in the line to buy food, waited an hour and left without food when the show started. Also when we were leaving, walking back to the busses, the gates were locked and we had to wait quite a while for it to be opened. But the show was stunning.
This is one of the stadia that was renovated for the iconic FIFA World Cup hosted in 2010. It is a wonderful stadium located in the South of Johannesburg that hosts soccer, cycling, running, music, expo’s and a number of other events. Whenever an event is going to be hosted at FNB Stadium, just know that it’ll be huge! This is a 90,000 capacity stadium. Should you attend an event here, get there well ahead of time. There is always plenty of parking available but, again, events hosted here are always massive so get here timeously. In terms of parking fees, some events make you pre-pay for parking, while others allow you to park at the venue. Always have change on hand to pay the car-guards. The venue is easily accessible off the M1 and N1 highways. Just check with event organisers whether any road-closures are planned. This venue is also popular with photoshoots. Should you wish to use the outside of the venue, you don’t particularly need a permit; however, should you require a photoshoot within the stadium itself, send a request well ahead of time. It’s a beautiful venue; a must-see for any visitor to the city of Johannesburg.
We went there for a concert, event was well organised and police presence made it safe for the patrons and they assisted with the traffic control. Parking areas are a bit of a walking distance but it's understandable for a 95k capacity stadium. Overall the stadium facilities were satisfactory even though some areas need maintaining here and there.
We were there for the Imagine Dragons concert. Got to any seats easy. Drinks very expensive
It was my first time i thought i would get lost but there're always securities everywhere to help you out....evey way is very clear and safe
Stadium is still in good nick, could do with the boards telling you wher to sit or which block you need to get but thinking back in even forget what the stadium looked like before.
Enjoyed à good Diski Challenge game Chiefs vs Baroka. Final score 1-1. Giving support to my Son.
Imagine dragons were amazing. The getting parking and leaving after the show, was a bit terrible. But I guess if so many people wants to leave at the same time, then that is what you are going to experience.
Such a beautiful stadium. Went to see Imagine Dragons on the 4th of February and the staff were super helpful. I've been to concerts there a few times and everytime the staff have been willing to help. Great job guys
